The Welshman has enjoyed a great start to the campaign.
It was been an exciting month for Arsenal fans with fears over the club’s credentials, contrasting with joy of landing club record signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.
One thing has been a constant throughout August however and that’s the form of midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who has seemingly put criticism behind the player to win the team’s Player of the Month award.
Ramsey was a clear winner in a poll conducted to see who would be the best performer of the last 30 days and the 22-year-old was streaks ahead of second-placed Olivier Giroud with 77.1% of the votes.
Since joining the Gunners from Cardiff City in 2008, the Wales international has developed into a first team regular for the side.
However, even as soon as last term Ramsey was still not considered to be wholly reliable, but a summer of training and focus has clearly done wonders for the Welshman.
Since an opening day defeat in the Premier League to Aston Villa, the north London club have been in fine form and have won back-to-back league matches and also qualified for their 17th consecutive Champions League competition – a statistic only bettered by Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Ramsey scored three goals in the two-legs against Fenerbahce in the qualifier and the skill and tenacity of the midfield ace was simply too much for the Turkish outfit.
Giroud – who has netted in all three of the club’s league matches so far – received 13.9% of the votes, whilst Tomas Rosicky finished in third with 2%.
