Arsenal are to re-sign defensive midfielder Mathieu Flamini, five years after the Frenchman left the club on a free transfer for AC Milan.
Flamini, 29, has been training with the Gunners for several weeks and is expected to provide cover at right back and holding midfield.
The news was broken by Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, who normally sources his information from Sky Italia. The news was confirmed on twitter by others who quoted the news service as their source:
Sky Italia: Adem Ljajić to undergo medical with Roma this afternoon. Flamini has agreed terms with Arsenal. #transfers

Arsenal are yet to officially confirm the deal but boss Arsene Wenger hinted at the weekend that there was a chance the former France international could return to North London.
“He is just here to work on his fitness and he does that very well,” said Wenger.
“I don’t say there’s no chance and I don’t say there is a chance [of signing him].”
