One-day skipper Eoin Morgan insists that his side are not scared of Australia bowler Mitchell Johnson following England’s crushing loss to the hosts in the Tri-Series final on Sunday.
Johnson ripped through England’s top-order on his way to figures of 3-27, with Australia running out resounding 112-run winners.
Despite the paceman’s excellent performance, the skipper says his side were the architects of their own downfall at the WACA.
When asked if England were worried about Johnson, Morgan was defiant.
“Absolutely not,” Morgan is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“I don’t think he (Johnson) swung it.
“We put ourselves under pressure. I think it probably could have been anybody bowling. We had a really bad day. That’s the best way to describe it.”
Morgan’s comments will certainly fire-up an in-form Johnson ahead of the World Cup clash between the old foes at the MCG on February 14.
