A season marred by a bullying scandal ended with a 2-game skid that knocked them out of the playoffs. This young team needs to grow up fast to contend in the AFC.
The offseason was not kind to the Dolphins: 5 of their offensive linemen were either cut or traded, leaving the team’s line in need of a serious overhaul. The team tried to fix it by signing former Chief Branden Albert and drafting Ja’Wuan James, but it still has issues on the inside. With the defensive line being the strong suit of 2 of their 3 division opponents, the Dolphins will need to get the unit to gel very quickly.
QB Ryan Tannehill is looking like the real deal and the Dolphins gave him a decent RB to take off some of the burden by signing Knowshon Moreno. Last year the receiving combo of Brian Hartline and Mike Wallace combined for just under 2,000 yards.
The Dolphins were dealt a huge blow when their former #3 overall draft pick Dion Jordan was suspended for the first four games of the season. But they still have a DE duo of Olivier Vernon and Cameron Wake, who combined for 20 sacks in 2013.
This team has potential if it can just solve the O-Line problem in time for the start of the season.
The Miami Dolphins report to training camp in Davie, Florida on July 24.
