After three matches there is now a two-week break in the Premier League for the international games, so this is the last Team of the Week from fanatix for a fortnight.
GK – Robert Green, QPR
Made a succession of brilliant saves to edge his side to their first league win of the season and Green essentially won the match for his team with his performance.
RB – Ritchie de Laet, Leicester City
The Foxes got a hard earned point at the King Power Stadium against Arsenal largely thanks to a solid defensive display and de Laet also got forward well to support the attack.
CB – Jason Shackell, Burnley
The focus from the lunchtime kickoff on Saturday will be about Manchester United being woeful, but it was a captain’s display of the highest order from Shackell to ensure a Clarets clean-sheet.
CB – Ryan Shawcross, Stoke City
It was a similar story for the Potters’ skipper as well, with Shawcross keeping Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic quiet as Stoke secured a shock victory over Manchester City.
LB – Alberto Moreno, Liverpool
Signed from Sevilla for £12m the left-back finally showed just what he was capable of in a 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, capping off the game with a fine goal.
CM – Morgan Schneiderlin, Southampton
All the speculation about his future clearly hasn’t affected the midfielder as he netted twice against West Ham United to secure a 3-1 victory for his team at Upton Park.
CM – Nemanja Matic, Chelsea
It was a nine goal thriller at Goodison Park as Everton were defeated 6-3 and Matic – although usually considered a defensive midfielder – scored one and provided an assist for another.
RW – Raheem Sterling, Liverpool
The 19-year-old has simply continued where he left off in 2013/14 and against Spurs the forward caused all sorts of problems and opened the scoring with his second of the season.
CAM – Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea City
Since returning to the Liberty Stadium the Iceland international has been crucial to the Swans’ success and played a key part once again as the Welsh team brushed West Bromwich Albion aside.
LW – Nathan Dyer, Swansea City
Another of Garry Monk’s men now and a winger that has surely caught the eye of England manager Roy Hodgson after scoring twice against the Baggies in a 3-0 win.
ST – Diego Costa, Chelsea
Any doubts about whether or not this Spaniard would take to English football following a £32m transfer from Atletico Madrid have been forgotten as the brace on Merseyside took Costa’s tally to four league goals in three games.
