The La Liga giants have been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old, but it is understood they are yet to have made a formal offer to United.
According to The Telegraph however, Real Madrid officials are expected to make an offer for the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper following Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Belarus on Sunday.
United will do all it can to hold onto one of its most prized possessions, however the club runs the risk of allowing de Gea to leave Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of next season.
De Gea has reportedly knocked back a new £200k-a-week deal to stay at Old Trafford, and it looks likely he will make the move to the Bernabeu this summer.
