After eight straight years with at least 13 goals, Chelsea thought they were getting a steal with Fernando Torres – instead they got robbed.
In his first four seasons after a club-record £50m transfer from Liverpool, Torres scored just 20 goals in 110 Premier League matches. Though he was a vital member of the club’s Champions League win in 2012 and their Europa League win in 2013, he never came close to living up to the expectations the club had for him.
