2. Luis Suarez (Uruguay, 2010)
The Liverpool man was not well-known in England prior to the 2010 World Cup, but he began to build his villainous reputation with his red card against Ghana in the quarter-finals in South Africa.
With the ball heading into the Uruguayan net, Suarez bashed the ball away on the line, saving his side from conceding. This saw the striker dismissed and Ghana awarded a penalty but Asamoah Gyan hammered the chance over the bar and Suarez jumped for joy on the touchline.
