The Green Bay Packers have gone three years without winning a Super Bowl, but they are still one of the top teams in the NFL and have enough talent to make another run.
Since winning the Super Bowl in the 2010 season, the Green Bay Packers have only won one playoff game and have fallen off the radar as one of the Super Bowl frontrunners with the Seahawks and 49ers emerging as the top teams.
However, the Packers are still a relatively popular pick to win the Super Bowl each year, and this year is no different.
Here are 10 reasons why the Packers will win the Super Bowl.
10. Improved offensive line
Offensive line has been an area of struggle throughout quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ career, but this season, he may have the privilege of playing with the most talented line in his tenure as the Packers’ signal caller. Bryan Bulaga will return from injury and start at right tackle, and David Bakhtiari now has a full season of experience at left tackle that will enable him to make a second-year jump. Guard is also set for the Packers with Pro Bowler Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang returning at the left and right respectively. Center is a question mark with Evan Dietrich-Smith gone, but J.C. Tretter and Corey Linsley figure to be promising replacement candidates. The depth is also much improved.
9. Dead weight gone
The Packers struggled mightily at the safety position, failing to record a single interception and being prone to giving up the big play. M.D. Jennings and Jerron McMillian both performed awfully at free safety, and they were let go as a result of their poor play. Offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse was also let go in free agency, and his presence often contributed to the Packers’ offensive line struggles.
