Konoplyanka had previously been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, however its now seems the Reds’ interest in the player has cooled, leaving the door open for Newcastle or Stoke to complete a deal.
According to The Mirror however, both clubs have baulked at Konoplyanka’s wage demands.
The pacy winger has recently come off contract at Ukrainian side Dnipro and is reportedly demanding a £100k-a-week deal.
It is believed Konolpyanka has held talks with Stoke, however Potters bosses baulked at the player’s wage demands.
Stoke’s unwillingness to match the wages put forward by the Ukraine international has opened the door for the Magpies to swoop, however they too will ask the player to decrease his wage demands.
Konolpyanka has scored 35 goals in 156 league matches for Dnipro since making his debut for the club way back in 2007.
