Both sides are looking to bolster their striking options.
Liverpool and Tottenham will compete with each other for the signing of Venezuelan forward Salomon Rondon this summer.

Rondon only signed for his current club, Zenit St. Petersburg, last January after arriving from Rubin Kazan in a £15.8 million move and is now being targeted by both of the Premier League sides according to Daily Star.
Both teams have been struggling with lacklustre, backup striking options this season with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Fabio Borini doing little to impress their respective managers.
And the South American could be the perfect man to replace them after managing a not too shabby seven goals and two assists so far this season in the Russian Premier League.
Rondon has also managed to net once in the Champions League and his future could come down to which side makes it into Europe’s elite club competition at the end of this season.
The two sides fought it out last night with Liverpool ending the match 3-2 winners over their north London rivals.
