Jovetic has also been linked with a switch to Premier League rivals, however, Calciomercato (via Daily Star) reports Inter president Erik Thohir has begun negotiations with City over the Montenegrin international.
The 25-year-old failed to cement himself a place in Manuel Pellegrini’s starting XI last term, but his talent cannot be questioned.
A move to Inter would mean Jovetic would once again link up with former boss Roberto Mancini, and the report suggests Inter would be willing to pay the former Fiorentina man £2.5m-a-season.
However, Corriere dello Sport [via Daily Star] reports Liverpool are still a chance to snare Jovetic as an alternative for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
According to the report, Liverpool are willing to offer £16m for the player – half of what Villa are demanding for Benteke.
