The talented 22-year-old has also been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in recent times after establishing himself as one of the most promising young full-backs in Europe.
However, City are keen to win the race for his signature as they ponder bringing in an upgrade on the likes of Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov in that position.
Kurzawa looks a bargain at £17m and could be the latest big name to make the move to the Etihad Stadium.
