The Wisconsin Badgers bounced back from a tough loss to LSU with a 37-3 victory over the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

No. 18 Wisconsin recovered from a heartbreaking loss to LSU with a 37-3 win over Western Illinois, and quarterback Tanner McEvoy had a much better performance than last week.
The Leathernecks pulled within a 9-3 deficit at halftime, but the Badgers pulled away in the second half with 28 unanswered points.
McEvoy finished with 283 yards and three touchdowns against one interception on 23-of-28 passing. Corey Clement led the way for Wisconsin running backs with 57 yards on nine carries, and McEvoy added 55 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.
Melvin Gordon looked hobbled as he finished with only 38 yards on 17 carries. Wide receiver Alex Erickson impressed with 10 catches and 122 yards with a touchdown reception.
Sam Arneson added four receptions and 87 yards for the Badgers, and Clement added three catches and 35 yards with a touchdown in addition to his rushing yards.
The Badgers held Leathernecks quarterback Trenton Norvell to 108 passing yards and an interception, and they only allowed 54 net rushing yards.
