Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins
RGIII was the Heisman trophy winner and a breath of fresh air to a Redskins fan base who were desperate for a franchise QB. Griffin set the all-time record for passer rating by a rookie Quarterback (102.4) and led the team to a playoff game in his first season.
The problem with Griffin is he can’t stay healthy, and there are even questions if he will be fit for the season opener. Having had surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his right knee, there is some durability questions surrounding the phenom. When those kind of injuries occur, players begin to question certain situations in which they could risk further injury. Griffin must not let the doubt creep in, or he will regress from the franchise QB he is set to become.
If he doesn’t and can stay healthy, then Washington could be set for the next decade, but if he loses the confidence in his own ability, then the ‘Skins will be back to square one.
2013 Season record: 10-6, misses out on wild card spot
