2. Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys
Romo skyrocketed into the MVP discussion after a sensational Week 16 performance in a 42-7 blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts. He threw four touchdown passes with 218 yards on 18-of-20 passing as the Cowboys clinched the division title and increased his passer rating to a league-leading 114.4. Murray having a broken hand did not phase Romo at all as he proved who the real MVP on this Cowboys team is. They now have an 11-4 record, and Romo has squashed the notion that he will “choke” because it’s December.
He has done the exact opposite of that as the Cowboys are 3-0 in the month that used to always sink them. He has thrown 10 touchdown passes with zero interceptions for a 143.5 rating while completing 79.2 percent of his passes. Romo now has a total of 32 touchdown passes this season with just eight interceptions.
