1. Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
The Packers quarterback is having arguably the best season of his career, which is a scary thought. Rodgers has thrown 36 touchdown passes with just five interceptions for a 111.0 quarterback rating. The MVP race has been able to remain suspenseful, thanks to a dreadful performance in a Week 15 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Rodgers had a 34.3 rating in this game, making it arguably the worst of his career. The 2011 MVP was able to bounce back with a quality game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 310 yards and a touchdown on 31-of-40 passing for a 108.1 rating.
He has also had eight games with at least three touchdown passes, including one where he had six in the first half against the Chicago Bears. No quarterback has done a better job at taking care of the ball this season, and Rodgers has led the Packers to another season with at least 11 wins. If he can increase that number to 12 and give the Packers their fourth consecutive NFC North title with a quality performance against the Detroit Lions, the award is as good as his.
