8. Southampton
While Ronald Koeman will have no problem churning out the best in his squad once again, regression is inevitable as midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and defender Nathaniel Clyne have left big shoes to fill.
7. Stoke City
Spanish international Joselu has joined the Potters as part of their ambitious summer recruitment. Their defence again looks relatively strong – they conceded less goals than Liverpool last year – and so could be a force to be reckoned with.
6. Tottenham Hotspur
If Spurs could just land a star player to pair with Harry Kane, they could go from title dark horses to frontrunners. However, Kane may be forced to carry a heavy load once again, and Toby Alderweireld will be counted on to upgrade their underwhelming defense.
5. Liverpool
The Reds have made a large amount of signings, including Benteke. He will not be enough to offset the losses of Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard though, and manager Brendan Rodgers will continue to feel his seat burn.
