American League Wild Card Game
Indians over Orioles
The Orioles lost Nelson Cruz, but they will still have a dangerous lineup. However, they will be unable to overcome Indians ace Corey Kluber, who will easily outduel Chris Tillman. The Indians lineup, consisting of Michael Brantley and Brandon Moss, will be able to score enough runs to move onto the ALDS.
American League Division Series
Red Sox over Indians in 4
The Indians will face Terry Francona’s old team, but they will face a harsh reality as they will discover that their team is not talented enough to keep up with the Red Sox’s stacked lineup. After already using Kluber, the Indians will be forced to turn to their inexperienced starters while Red Sox pitchers like Clay Buchholz will be able to use their postseason experience to cruise to the ALCS.
Angels over Tigers in 5
The Angels will have to take on David Price, but don’t be fooled by the big name. Price has gone 1-5 with a 4.50 ERA in the postseason, and the rest of their rotation will not have an easy time against the Mike Trout-led Angels lineup. The Angels have pitching question marks of their own, so this will be a close series.
The Angels will ultimately prevail in Game 5 as they have a superior bullpen with Huston Street and Joe Smith. The Tigers’ biggest weakness will cost them.
American League Championship Series
Red Sox over Angels in 6
The American League will be defying the common belief that “pitching wins championships” as the pennant will come down to two of the best offenses in all of baseball.
The Red Sox will have youngsters like Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts and Rusney Castillo with more major-league experience under their belts, and mentors like Dustin Pedroia will be there to show them how to win a championship.
Here are the playoff predictions for the National League…
