1. Amari Cooper, Alabama
Cooper is the best receiver in this year’s draft class due to his consistency at Alabama and his 2014 season, which involved him being a Heisman Trophy finalist and placing third in the voting. He also won the Biletnikoff Award, which is sure to intrigue the Raiders. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is entering his second year, and gaining a No. 1 receiver will be crucial to his development. Cooper has reliable hands, and he can gain separation from defensive backs with his route running and solid speed.
The Alabama receiver is also tough enough to battle for the ball on a regular basis. His stats will be enough to impress anyone, as he caught 124 passes for 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns. Although there’s a chance the Raiders will draft White or Leonard Williams if he falls to them, Cooper is the most logical choice for a receiver-needy team such as the Raiders.
