Fans expecting Pedro to move to Man United will get their answer soon – for better or worse.
Manchester United have made Barcelona superstar Pedro their key transfer target of the transfer window. And it appears they are about to get a final answer.
According to reports from Spain via the Metro, Pedro will make his final decision on whether he will accept a transfer move to Man United with “the coming hours”, with an official announcement of a transfer being made the following week.
The key stopping point to a deal taking place has been Pedro’s release clause – marked down as €30 million by the La Liga and Champions League victors.
“Pedro asked us for the transfer,” Barcelona exec Robert Fernandez said earlier this month. “We are not going to accept less than €30m for him, it’s not negotiable.”
Pedro has played his entire senior career for Barcelona, winning five La Liga titles, three Champions League titles, three Copa del Ray titles and four Supercopa de Espana titles since his debut in the 2007-08 season. Pedro has recorded double-digit total goals in each of his last six seasons and owns 16 career goals representing Spain’s international team.
Despite being left off the starting XI for the UEFA Super Cup match, Pedro came on later for the equalizing goal as well as the game-winning penalty kick.
