No. 24 Missouri had a somewhat sloppy win last week against South Dakota State, so they looked to show that they are still a contender. They did that by beating Toledo, 49-24.
The Tigers stormed out to a 35-7 lead over the Rockets and never looked back, and they were led by quarterback Maty Mauk.
Mauk threw for 325 yards on 21-of-32 passing for five touchdowns and two interceptions. He also added 36 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and running back Russell Hansbrough rushed for a team-leading 84 yards and a touchdown.
Wide receiver Bud Sasser led the Tigers with 121 receiving yards and a touchdown on five receptions, and Jimmie Hunt added six receptions with 71 yards and two touchdowns.
The Tigers held Rockets quarterback Phillip Ely to 104 passing yards and an interception with no touchdowns after he threw four against New Hampshire.
However, running back Kareem Hunt had a fantastic game that included 148 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries.
