Manchester United striker Federico Macheda is actively looking for a new club having finally given up on his dream of making it at Old Trafford.
Premier League clubs are sure to be alert to Macheda’s availability, as the 21 year-old still has plenty of time to deliver on his potential.
The Italian hitman broke into the Red Devils team in April 2009 with a sublime turn and finish to beat Aston Villa, and soon followed it up with a goal against Sunderland.
Manchester United fans were naturally getting excited at the prospect of a great young striker, given his prolific strike rate so early in his Old Trafford career, but since then Macheda has struggled.
“Federico at this time is not finding space, and so it is clear that in January he will go away,” said Macheda’s agent Giovanni Bia to tuttomercatoweb.com.
“But I don’t think he’ll be back again in Italy because usually in January clubs are looking for players that are already ready, unless there are teams with a quiet standing which want to do long-term projects with him.”
Aston Villa and Sunderland are likely to be the interested clubs.
