Tottenham are tracking Valencia playmaker Sofiane Feghouli, according to Italian source CalcioMercato.
The 23-year-old playmaker has started the season brightly at the Mestalla, netting five times and standing out in Valencia’s three straight Champions League victories.
The French-born Algerian international has attracted comparisons to Zinedine Zidane, for both his dual-nationality and fabulous range of passing.
Feghouli is in his third full season in La Liga but Valencia boss Mauricio Pellegrino must be fearing the young midfielder could be the latest star to leave the club.
Feghouli started his career at French outfit Grenoble before joining the Spaniards in 2010, but spent the season before last on loan at Almeria before making a real impact at the Mestalla last term.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly looking at alternatives to Joao Moutinho, after learning that his compatriot is not interested in leaving Porto in January.
The 34-year-old tactician wants to add creativity and intelligence to his midfield, following the loss of both Luka Modric and Rafa van der Vaart over the summer.
It is understood that Spurs could bid in the region of £11m for Feghouli in the new year but Valencia will fight tooth and nail to keep the flamboyant star.
