Manchester United are in secret talks to sign Borussia Dortmund forward, reports Spanish source Fichajes.
The Polish international was linked with United at the beginning of the summer but it was thought that the Red Devils’ interest had cooled following the signing of Robin van Persie.
But United are reportedly ready to fork out £23.9m to sign the 23-year-old and have already begun talks with the Dortmund.
Lewandowski scored 30 goals in all competitions last season, after Jurgen Klopp’s men claimed the league and cup double.
But Dortmund are already 11 points adrift of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and Lewandowski is reportedly ready to move on in January or next summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson boasts a host of attacking talent, including Lewandowski’s former Dortmund teammate Shinji Kagawa, van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
