Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United buoyant after talented Germany international gives major hint at future deal.
Arsenal and Chelsea have been heavily linked with the signing of FC Schalke 04 playmaker Julian Draxler in the last twelve months.
The Gunners particularly thought to be keen in the summer transfer window, whilst their west London rivals are believed to be lining up a swoop in the January transfer window.
Draxler, who is just 20 years of age, is well on his way into developing into a world class player for FC Schalke, scoring 13 times and assisting seven goals in 39 games last season.
He is performing similarly brilliantly in the current campaign, scoring three goals and providing three assists in his twelve appearances.
Draxler committed his future to his Gelsenkirchen side last season, but has given his first hint that he would be delighted to consider a switch to either Chelsea or Arsenal in future – as well as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Manchester United.
“I’m telling you honestly that my dream is to play for one of the big clubs at some point,” Draxler told German publication Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger, as translated by ITV football.
“If you want to achieve the big goals, which every world class player has, you have to play at the biggest clubs. These are Real, Barca, United, Arsenal, Chelsea.”
Draxler has a minimum fee release clause in his contract for €45 million (approximately £38.2m).
