The San Francisco 49ers had even more bad luck at training camp when another running back was carted off the field with an injury.
Kendall Hunter was recently carted off the field with a torn ACL, and he is expected to miss the entire 2014 season.
LaMichael James, who is expected to be a change-of-pace back in the 49ers offense, was removed from practice with a dislocated elbow. Ian Rapoport, NFL Media insider, broke the news on Twitter.
#49ers RB LaMichael James was carted off the field today with what I’m told is a dislocated elbow. Second big RB injury to SF

#49ers RB LaMichael James should miss a month. Bad, but could be worse RT @Ringzzzzz: @RapSheet How long would his injury timetable be?

Luckily for the 49ers, James will not miss the entire season, but he will still be out for a significant period.
Drafting Carlos Hyde now looks like a smart move since he, Frank Gore and Marcus Lattimore are the only running backs remaining on the roster.
