5. Tim Sherwood needs to switch things around
The Villa boss went with Scott Sinclair, Jordan Ayew and Gabby Agbonlahor in an attacking trident, but with the trio all offering the same threat, it was all very pointless.
While there was no link between the midfield and forwards, it ultimately ended up with a frustrating lack of goal-mouth action with Sergio Romero enjoying a comfortable evening’s work.
Rudy Gestede is a physical presence and a poacher, so Sherwood would be well advised to give him a starting role in the next game.
