3) Pace the problem for Chelsea again
As alluded to previously, Chelsea have been leaking goals by the bucket load at the start of this season. They have conceded two goals or more in four successive league games for the first time since 2006, and the nine goals that they have let in is the most at this stage of a season since 1971-72.
The main issue has been a lack of pace – both on the flanks and centrally. In Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas, Ross Barkley and deadline-day arrival Aaron Lennon – Everton have more than enough speed to expose this flaw in Chelsea’s ageing defence, which welcomes back John Terry after suspension.
