The Premier League weekend kicks off on Saturday lunchtime when Manchester United host Newcastle United in a fixture which appears to something of a home banker on paper.
With Louis van Gaal’s side three from three this season and the Magpies yet to win under new manager Steve McClaren, few would bet on anything but an easy Red Devils victory.
But fanatix has five reasons why Newcastle could bust plenty of accumulators at Old Trafford…
5. Champions League hangover
Their Champions League play-off win over Club Brugge was played at a fast pace and so there is a danger that fatigue could become an issue, especially as Van Gaal named an unchanged team in midweek. Newcastle will be refreshed and so could take advantage if they are still in the game after an hour.
With focus at the start of the week on their European exploits, United will also have had little preparation time – not ideal at the start of a season when new tactics are still being honed.
