This lineup shows just a minor adjustment to what many would consider to be Chelsea’s strongest lineup, with Eden Hazard shifted inside to play behind Costa and hopefully have a greater impact.
The Belgian has struggled to maintain his PFA Player of the Year award standards from last season, possibly because teams are doubling, and even trebling up on Chelsea’s most dangerous attacker.
It is easier to freeze a player out of the game on the wing then it is in the middle, and Hazard may have more space in the middle in which to thrive. Pedro is more than comfortable on either flank.
