Mario Balotelli (AC Milan and ITALY)
At 23, Mario Balotelli still feels like a player with immense – albeit unfulfilled – potential.
The AC Milan forward has as good a physical presence as any striker in the game, and the technical attributes to match the very best in the game.
However, despite an impressive scoring record, Balotelli appears to decide which games he wishes to perform in and which he does not – and his movement can be the biggest difference.
In Balotelli’s worst games, he repeat runs to the same place for each chance, or worse – simply stands and waits for the ball to come to him.
In his best, he has the capability to move intelligently, as he did for England against Italy, drifting from near to far post to head in the winner.
If Arsene Wenger could get him to replicate that on a regular basis, he might be the coach to help Balotelli fulfil his undoubted talent.
