The Raiders, even after firing head coach Dennis Allen and replacing him with Tony Sparano, look no closer to winning a game this year than they did a month ago.

The Raiders are pretty bad – very few weapons to speak of, an over-the-hill defense, injuries, an impossible division to contend with and poor coaching all but doomed this team to miss out on the playoffs before this season began. But the schedule did the Raiders absolutely no favors.
With 6 games against the entire AFC West (all of them playoff teams from 2013), as well as the NFC West (best collective winning percentage in 2013), the hard-nosed AFC East, and the much-improved Browns and Texans, any team in football would have a nearly impossible time running a gauntlet like that and coming out with a decent record, much less a handful of wins.
The Raiders are playing terribly on offense, there’s no doubt about that – they’ve only scored above 14 points once this season in a 28-31 loss to the Chargers last week – but it’s hard to go completely winless in a league where it only takes one breakout performance to turn a game. The problem is, after next week’s game against the Browns, the Raiders have a November schedule that features the Seahawks, Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs and Rams in consecutive weeks. Next week may be the Raiders last chance at their first win until December.
Here are the 5 worst teams in the NFL heading into Week 8:
5. Minnesota Vikings – Terrible teams get blown out, bad teams lose close games. So far the Vikings have been a little bit of both.
4. Tennessee Titans – When you lose to a Redskins team led by Colt McCoy one week after barely beating the Jacksonville Jaguars, it begs the question if this team might be winless had it not played in one of the worst divisions in football.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars – Having that winless monkey off their back will be a real confidence builder down the road. But if they don’t get at least one or two more before the season ends there may be some serious personnel changes.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The Buccaneers have played 6 games and given up 204 points, that is the worst in the NFL. The only other teams that have given up at least 190 points this season are the Jaguars, Panthers and Falcons – all of which have played SEVEN games.
1. Oakland Raiders – What is the over/under on how many “Winless for Winston” or “Shameless for Jameis” posters that the Raiders fans will be holding up at the stadium?
