De Bruyne has been superb since joining Wolfsburg from Chelsea, scoring 15 goals and creating a remarkable 20 assists in his 45 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
His form in the Bundesliga is believed to have attracted the interest of Manchester United and Arsenal, but it now seems cashed-up Manchester City lead the race to sign the 23-year-old.
“My agent already spoke with City? Informally, yes,” De Bruyne is quoted as saying by Daily Star.
“I have not decided anything. I have time. No stress for me. We still have one match and I leave for a holiday.
“In that period, the clubs will maybe talk to each other, and my agent will talk, but for me there is no hurry.”
The former Werder Bremen star would be a much-welcomed addition to any Premier League side, and it would come as no surprise if both United and Arsenal fight back in the race for the creative midfielder.
City, United and Arsenal will all have to dig deep into their coffers however, with De Bruyne believed to be valued at £58m by Wolfsburg.
