After being given the unenviable task of replacing Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s no surprise Nani couldn’t hack it. Is this the right move for the Red Devils?

Manchester United winger Nani is reportedly flying out to Turkey to complete a transfer to Fenerbahce in a move that could very well be completed today.
According to the Metro, Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha – more commonly known as Nani – is flying out to Fenerbahce headquarters for a physical, and (assuming he passes) he will then sign a four-year, £2.8 million-per-year deal with the Turkish outfit. In exchange for Nani, Man United will reportedly receive £6 million.
Despite playing for his former club Sporting CP on loan last year, the Portugese club didn’t have the money to finance a complete move by their national squad star.
Man United first acquired Nani from Sporting CP in 2007 and had a remarkable breakout season in 2010-11, scoring a career-high 9 league goals and making the PFA Premier League Team of the Year while being voted the Man United Players’ Player of the Year. In 27 appearances on loan for Sporting CP in 2014-15, Nani had 7 league goals and set a career-high with 12 total goals.
