Arsenal aren’t done with Julian Draxler just yet. Will the Gunners make the kind of bid that scares Schalke into selling their star?
Arsene Wenger has made it no secret that he’s eager to bring Schalke 04 super winger Julian Draxler to Emirates Stadium, and Draxler’s boss is concerned he’ll be powerless to stop it from happening.
According to the Metro, Schalke 04 manager Andre Breitenreiter expressed concerns that Arsenal or another mega club would be willing to make his club an offer they couldn’t refuse for his 21-year-old superstar winger despite managing to overturn a potential Draxler-Juventus transfer.
“I want to keep him 100% but I do not what will happen if we receive a brutal offer,” Breitenreiter said.
Last summer Wenger tried to move quickly to seal a deal for the German national but fell short as Draxler re-signed with Schalke 04 for another season.
Draxler made his senior debut with Schalke 04 in 2010 and has been a star winger for the club when healthy. He had a breakout year during the 2012-13 season and set a career high with 10 league goals and 13 total goals. Draxler was also a member of the German national team that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
