Neymar might be just one phone call and £100 million away from a move to the Premier League.
Amidst the increasing rumors that Man United are trying to work out a deal for Barcelona megastar Neymar, the interest appears to be mutual.
According to the Guardian, has an interest in moving to the Premier League if the opportunity presents itself, but the Brazilian star is unsure if a deal could be done before the summer transfer window closes.
Arguably the best scoring winger in the world, Barcelona’s 23-year-old Neymar is believed to have a release clause in excess of £137 million. That mark would be more than four times what Man United were reportedly willing to spend on his now-ex-teammate Pedro, who signed with Chelsea this past week.
The Metro reported that Neymar is “a big fan of United’s prestige and history and is a huge admirer of Louis van Gaal and the club” – news that will no doubt be music to the ears of Man United fans who have had to watch Pedro become an immediate impact star for Chelsea.
Last season Neymar recorded a career-high 22 league goals, including 10 goals in the Champions League (tied with Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for most in the tournament). Neymar has recorded double-digit goals in every professional season since 2009 with Santos.
