No. 8 Baylor improved to 3-0 with a 63-21 blowout victory on the road over Buffalo, and quarterback Bryce Petty picked up right where he left off.
The quarterback had sat out the previous game with a back injury, but he threw for 416 yards and four touchdown passes to lead the Bears offense. They never looked back after taking a 35-0 halftime lead.
Shock Linwood led the Bears running backs with 97 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Wide receiver KD Cannon had another memorable performance and is clearly the top receiving weapon for Petty.
Cannon finished with 189 yards and a touchdown on six receptions, but he was not the only star in Baylor’s receiving corps.
Jay Lee and Lynx Hawthorne each finished with over 100 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns apiece.
For the Bulls, quarterback Joe Licata threw for 171 yards and a touchdown pass. Running back Jordan Johnson ran for 97 yards on 20 carries. Backup quarterback Tony Daniel threw a touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter.
