Recently sacked Carlo Ancelotti officially offered Liverpool manager job
Update: What’s happened so far with Carlo Ancelotti and Liverpool
Ancelotti said that he plans to take a year off of coaching and take a sabbatical, but it may be ultimately impossible for him to resist every offer thrown his way.
He has been linked to high-profile coaching jobs such as Liverpool, but it appears that AC Milan may be his next destination.
AC Milan chairman Silvio Berlusconi claimed that Ancelotti is the only candidate for the head coaching job, and he even implied that Ancelotti is as good as headed to AC Milan.
“Alternatives? I don’t even want to consider alternatives to Ancelotti,” Berlusconi said to Football Italia.
Despite failing to win any major trophies in the 2014-15 season, Real Madrid took home the Copa del Rey and UEFA Super Cup trophies under Ancelotti’s watch in his first year with the squad.
Ancelotti had previously served as AC Milan’s coach from 2001-09, and Berlusconi is counting on him to turn the tide after a 10th-place finish in the Serie A standings.
