Italian international suffers fractured bone in his left foot.
AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy will face another spell on the sidelines after he fractured a bone in his foot during training on Monday.
The 20-year-old had recently rejoined his team-mates in full training after recovering from a muscular injury he suffered earlier this month.
Having been included in the Rossoneri squad travelling to Amsterdam for the Champions League meeting with Ajax on Wednesday night, he was dealt another blow during training and will now be forced to deal with the disappointment of another setback.
The club have confirmed that he has suffered a fractured bone in the fourth metatarsal in his left foot, and will now miss the game in the Netherlands as well as this weekend’s clash with Juventus.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he sustained the injury in the morning session on Monday, and it will undoubtedly come as a huge blow for the youngster as he looks to work his way back into the side.
Much was made of his future in the media this past summer, with speculation suggesting that offers from the Premier League and Spain were rejected.
Having confirmed his desire to stay with the Rossoneri, El Shaarawy has seen competition for places increase following the arrival of Alessandro Matri, but he remains a vital part of Milan’s future.
Nevertheless, as he took to Twitter to display his disbelief at the prospect of again being forced into the treatment room, he will now likely be expected to return after the international break along with a number of his injured team-mates.
