Despite being on Chelsea’s squad, van Ginkel is also on AC Milan on a loan deal, and coach Filippo Inzaghi has expressed his desire for van Ginkel to return on another loan deal.
The Dutch midfielder helped lead AC Milan to a 3-0 victory over Torino, and Inzaghi believes that he can make an even bigger impact going forward if he can stay healthy.
“Unfortunately he is not our player, but he has grown a lot. He has played seven or eight games in a row and we are starting to see a great player,” Inzaghi said to Mirror.
Van Ginkel only made 16 appearances for AC Milan this season due to his injuries, but he started in the last 11 Serie A matches for AC Milan while scoring a goal and dishing out an assist.
The Dutch international may be with AC Milan for another year, but he may see a bigger role going forward with Chelsea since his contract with them runs through 2018.
He only played four games for the Blues this season, but more experience and better health should lead to more appearances.
