Rossoneri still looking to bolster options in trequartista role.
AC Milan have been linked with a move for Ajax star Christian Eriksen, with the Dutch media suggesting a bid will arrive after the Champions League qualifier.
The Rossoneri secured a 1-1 draw with PSV at the Philips Stadion on Tuesday night, and are favourites to progress from the tie with Stephan El Shaarawy’s away goal.
Should they clinch their place in the group stages, it is expected that vice-President Adriano Galliani will step into the transfer market with the knowledge that the club will make a minimum of €30m from the tournament.
As a result, De Telegraaf has suggested that the Italian giants could target Eriksen in a bid to give coach Massimiliano Allegri another option in the trequartista role as reported by Football Italia.
With negotiations for Keisuke Honda and Adem Ljajic at a standstill in terms of signing either player this summer, Milan are anxious to add new faces in order to be competitive both domestically and in Europe.
The Japanese playmaker is most likely to join the club in January on a free transfer, while there is still a possibility that Ljajic will choose to renew his contract with Fiorentina.
Nevertheless, Eriksen has been a long-term target for Premier League side Liverpool but given that they are unable to offer him European football, it is understood that Milan remain in pole position should he be available.
The 21-year-old has received rave reviews since making his debut at Ajax, and having already established himself as a key player for both club and country he could be ready to take the next step.
