Allegri insists the Italian maverick is staying at the San Siro.
After constant speculation linking Mario Balotelli with a move to Chelsea, AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has spoken out about the reports.
The Milan boss is not happy with the unsettling nature of the stories and has tried to stamp out the gossip.
“He will not leave in January. Absolutely not. I think Mario should be left in peace. It’s not difficult to manage him,” Allegri told the club’s website.
“There’s far too much discussion of the man’s private life. I think that Balotelli should be judged for what he does on the pitch like all other players.”
It is true that controversy seems to follow the striker around and ever since an action packed two-and-a-half years with Manchester City, the British media have become obsessed with the 23-year-old.
Admittedly Balotelli does like to indulge these stories, with reports ranging from the Italian setting fireworks off in a bathroom to driving into a women’s prison to have a look.
Yet the Italy international is not just the class clown, with a superb goal-scoring record of late for both club and country.
Five goals and four assists in 11 appearances this season is a good return and Balotelli also has 12 strikes in 27 matches for the Italian national team.
In 80 games for City the attacker netted 30 times in all competitions, but was also sent off four times as the starlet struggled to control his emotions on the pitch.
The Blues have been strongly linked with bringing Balotelli back to England however as the club is finding it difficult to discover the right combination in attack.
