Italians look to speed up search for Balotelli replacement.
Serie A giants AC Milan will look to make a surprise move for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini should their efforts to replace Mario Balotelli with Chelsea’s Fernando Torres fail to come off, according to the Daily Express.
Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has enquired about a host of top name strikers but shelved plans to sign Radamel Falcao, Jackson Martinez and Mattia Destro due to financial reasons.
The Italians are still thought to hold Torres as their first choice striker, but fear a permanent move may be held up by financial restrictions.
However, reports in Italy had claimed that a loan move could be on the cards as Jose Mourinho continued to chase a deal for Roma forward Mattia Destro.
But Milan are now pondering a move for Borini just in case they cannot reach an agreement with the Blues in regards of a move for the Spanish international.
Premier League Sunderland also want Borini but manager Gus Poyet appears resigned to missing out on the 23-year-old as Milan believe he is the ideal man to sign using the funds raised by the sale of Balotelli.
