Two of the NFL’s best offensive players will be active today after injuries put their teams’ playoff hopes in jeopardy:
WR Julio Jones, ATLANTA FALCONS
NFL Media’s Albert Breer reported Sunday morning that the Falcons are optimistic Julio Jones will play, according to a source. Jones is also positive about his chances after missing last week’s game with a hip injury. Jones ran on Wednesday and again Saturday before traveling to New Orleans. The star WR will have one final test on the field during pregame warmups before a decision is made.
RB DeMarco Murray, DALLAS COWBOYS
The league’s leading rusher will play despite undergoing hand surgery this week. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said on NFL GameDay First that Murray will play with a pad on his left hand. Rapoport added Dallas is “a little nervous” about telegraphing their plays with Murray in the game and concerned with how much he can do in the passing game and blocking.
If Murray is ineffective early, the Cowboys may move to a heavier running back by committee approach.
