New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has continually denied that his team cheated after it was discovered that they had played with 11 deflated balls in the AFC Championship.
During his press conference, Belichick made a reference to the 1992 comedy film, My Cousin Vinny.
“I would not say I’m Mona Lisa Vito of the football world, as she was in the car-expertise area,” the Patriots head coach said.
Actress Marisa Tomei played this role in the movie, and she has since given her take on Belichick’s comments.
“It’s pretty funny. I was on a plane from Miami and my phone was lighting up when I got off. I kind of had to catch up on what was going on and the whole ball-gate or deflate-gate,” the actress said to NFL.com.
The actress went on to say that Belichick’s explanation of the deflated balls in the AFC Championship was believable and even said that he sold himself short on his expertise of ball deflation.
The Patriots may need to recruit Joe Pesci as their lawyer in the near future if they get in even deeper trouble though.
