Adam Lallana has found the net for the second preseason game in a row, after bagging a beauty in Liverpool’s friendly with Brisbane Roar on Friday.
Lallana, who was also on the scoresheet in Tuesday’s 4-0 win over a Thailand Allstars XI, found the top corner of Brisbane’s goal in the 28th minute to level the game at 1-1 after Dimitri Petratos had broken the deadlock just after the quarter hour, taking advantage of some sloppy defending…
The former Southampton hero was set up by Liverpool summer signing James Milner, who provided a neat pass to feet, but Lallana did most of the work himself.
Lallana scored five goals and provided three assists in 27 Premier League appearances for the Reds last season, following his move from St Mary’s.
Judging by his form so far in preseason, he has a great chance to improve on those figures in 2015-16.
However, the real test will come when the proper football returns in August. After all, goals against Asian and Australasian minnows are much easier to come by than they are in the Premier League and even the Europa League.
