Serbian international could speed up Lamela’s switch to Tottenham.
Fiorentina starlet Adem Ljajic is currently in a meeting with club officials in order to decide his future with both Roma and AC Milan interested.
It is understood that the 21-year-old will deliver an answer on his future, with the Viola waiting to find out whether he is open to moving to Roma or wishes to hold out for Milan as reported by Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Having failed to reach an agreement with Vincenzo Montella’s side on a contract renewal, Fiorentina are keen to avoid losing the youngster for nothing at the end of the season.
However, relations have been tense between themselves and the Rossoneri, after they made an €8m bid last month which was immediately rejected.
According to the latest reports, Roma have now attempted to hijack the move by offering €10m plus bonuses, which could ultimately satisfy Fiorentina’s €13m price-tag.
Nevertheless, much will depend on Ljajic’s personal preference as he could turn down a move to Rome and wait for Milan to confirm their place in the Champions League.
It is believed that if Massimiliano Allegri gets past PSV on Wednesday night, he will handed the additional funds to push through a move for Ljajic as well as other targets.
Meanwhile, if Ljajic were to choose Roma, that could have a knock-on effect on Erik Lamela’s switch to Tottenham.
Reports in Italy claim that the move is being held up as the Giallorossi look to bring in Ljajic as his replacement, and if they can do that then Lamela will be free to leave.
