The NFL announced its three players of the week in the AFC for Week 13 of the 2014 NFL season.
Houston Texans QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Indianapolis Colts LB D’Qwell Jackson was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week, and Jacksonville Jaguars K Josh Scobee was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
With a franchise record 6 passing TDs in a win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Fitzpatrick more than earned his award, especially after being benched for now-injured QB Ryan Mallett just two weeks ago. Fitzpatrick also set a new personal record for highest passer rating in a game.
Jackson had seven tackles, two tackles for a loss, one pass defensed and a 35-yard fumble-recovery touchdown in a win over Washington. It was his first defensive TD as a member of the Colts and the second of his NFL career.
Scobee converted two key field-goal attempts in a win over the New York Giants, including the game-winning 43-yarder with 0:28 remaining in the fourth quarter, and added one PAT.
