Can anybody stop Sydney and Hawthorn?
They have been the clear standout sides of the competition and the ladder reflects that.
At the moment both sides seem unbeatable and are most people’s pick for the Grand Final, and it would be a deserved final appearance at the MCG for both if it were to occur.
Sydney face a potentially tricky encounter away to Port Adelaide, but if they win that then pencil the Swans in for a top-two spot as they won’t lose to either of St Kilda, Western Bulldogs or Richmond.
Hawthorn will surely beat Melbourne on the weekend, but then have two current top-four sides to face in Fremantle (in Perth) and Geelong. Slip up there and the Swans will be ready to pounce on top spot.
The Hawks final game will be against a Collingwood side who’ll most likely be in a finals dogfight, but Alastair Clarkson’s side should have too much class.
